What’s on the Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exam (ACE) I PN-RN: Foundations of Nursing exam?

The exam tests students on a client’s basic physiological and psychosocial needs. The exam tests students based on the following four objectives:

  1. Understands a client’s state of health in areas that include biological, psychological, and sociological status
  2. Understands nursing measures as they apply to patient care
  3. Understands the intended and unintended effects of drugs when treating clients
  4. Understands nutrition and diet in a client’s treatment

The content areas test knowledge of clients with health issues based on the five nursing processes — assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing and evaluating. The questions involve clients with one or more of any number of health issues that can include death and dying; pre-and post-operative care; illnesses that are chronic; stress; imbalances in fluids and electrolytes; losing consciousness; and stress.
